Did you know that the Arabic language is the fifth most spoken language in the world (by number of native speakers)? It is an official language in 22 countries and one of the six official languages of the United Nations. It is one of the richest languages in vocabulary and has one of the largest lexicons in the world, with around 12 million words.
This course aims to develop the four linguistic skills in the Arabic language. Depending on the theme and exercise, different teaching approaches and activities are used in class. While a task-based approach will engage you in collaborative learning. The natural approach aims to increase your motivation in language learning through teacher-student and student-student communication in the target language to facilitate learning.
In this course, students will learn and express themselves in spoken Arabic, both in formal and informal situations. A wide range of topics appropriate for day-to-day conversation will be covered: e.g. common greetings and expressions, introducing oneself, ordering in a restaurant, going shopping, seeking and providing information, expressing likes and dislikes, and describing daily activities.
